Pico De Gallo Recipe & History Traditional Mexican Salsa

Prep Time:10 minutes Total Time:10 minutes Servings: 4(~2 cups or 4 1/2 cup servings)


ingredients



  • 2 cups tomatoes, seeded and diced

  • 1/4 cup onion, diced

  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and diced

  • 1 handful cilantro, chopped

  • 1 lime, juice

  • salt to taste

  • Mix everything.


  • Option: Add extras like avocado, cooked shrimp or crumbled queso fresco.
    Note: A nice balance between the lime juice and the salt really makes a pico de gallo shine, so add the salt a bit at a time to get it to where you want it!
    Option: Let the salad sit for 10-20 minutes before digging in, to let the flavours come out!
